The Aerobic Rider II
For the price you can't beat it! And it is absolutely whisper quiet!!! This is the most convenient, economical, and best exercise combination that I am aware of. It is a smooth and solid machine and I strongly recommend it. Keep this machine "in the room where you live." For most that is a den/TV room, for others it is a kitchen or bedroom. It is a good idea not to put it in some isolated room that you don't use a lot. I kept my exercise machine 15 feet away from where I watched TV, and I never used it. When I moved it the 15 feet to "the room where I live," I worked up to 45 minutes a day, 4 times a week!
The way to use this machine is to start your exercise with 30 seconds a day. But do 3 thirty-second exercise periods a day. So, 30 seconds 3 times a day for the first week. Add 30 seconds to each session once a week. That means in the second week you exercise one minute 3 times a day. In the third week do 1½ minutes 3 times a day.
In the 4th week you should be able to exercise 2 minutes 3 times a day, but that can be changed to 3 minutes twice a day or 4 minutes one session and 2 minutes the other session. When you work up to 8 total minutes per day, you can join the entire exercise period into one 8-minute session if you like. If you are in good shape, then start doing two 8-minute sessions each day. In other words you can go from 8 minutes total to 16 minutes total per day in one step--but still exercise 5 days a week.
In the last 5 seconds of each 30-second exercise period (5 seconds of the first 30 seconds) do "resistance training" (weight lifting) by placing your feet on the upper set of pedals (there are 2 sets). Don't try to do all of the resistance exercise at one time, but do 25 seconds of each 30 seconds using arms and legs together, and 5 seconds of each 30 seconds placing your feet on the upper pedals resulting in resistance training for your arms and upper body. Never force anything, never strain and never do anything that is uncomfortable. As soon as anything becomes uncomfortable, STOP!
